Ioannis Vayenas

Ioannis, based in Vienna, works mostly in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Greece, but also in other countries.
Married to a professional harpist, Ioannis’ work as a technician is also influenced by his own extensive experience as a professional violinist. For seventeen years, he served as Assistant Concertmaster of the National Opera in Ljubljana, Slovenia. As a highly educated and experienced string player, he pays a lot of attention and interest to the matter of intonation. Always sensitive to the player’s perspective, he is deeply aware of the importance of playing a well-regulated and well-tuned instrument.
As a harp-technician, Ioannis trained privately with Mr Miroslav Zivanovic, the former head of the harp technician department and establisher of the harp technician training programs at Salvi factory in Piasco (Italy). Ioannis continued his training directly at the Salvi factory.
His clientele includes Volksoper Wien, University of Music Vienna, University of Music Graz, Bratislava Philharmonic, Bratislava Radio Orchestra and Bratislava Conservatory (Slovakia), Ljubljana National Opera and Ljubljana Music Conservatory (Slovenia), Zagreb National Opera (Croatia), Pilzen Symphony Orchestra (Chech Republic), Szeged Symphony Orchestra (Hungary) Thessaloniki State Orchestra and Conservatory (Greece), and numerous music schools and private harpists in Vienna, whole Austria and Slowenia.
